Description

Ferrules finish off the open ends of steel or aluminium tube on chair, table and stool legs, and frames. They protect floors from scratches, stop the leg sliding and keep dirt out of the tube.

An insert (male) ferrule has ribs that grip the inside of the tube, so the cap sits flush with the outside. The size is the outside diameter of the tube; the wall thickness also affects the fit.

Tap the insert in with a rubber mallet so it seats fully.
