Steel DIN 94 split pins (cotter pins), from 1.6 x 20mm to 6.3 x 63mm, for locking clevis pins, castle nuts and shafts.
Description
A split pin goes through a cross-hole in a pin, bolt or shaft, and its two legs are bent apart so it cannot fall out. It locks castle nuts on axles, holds clevis pins in place and secures hinge pins and linkages.
The size is the pin diameter x length. Choose the largest diameter that passes through the hole, long enough for the legs to be bent back. Split pins should not be reused once bent.
Used for:
- Castle nuts on trailer and wheelbarrow axles
- Clevis pins on linkages and towbars
- Hinge pins and shafts on gates and machinery
