Acid Core solder wire, 2.5mm, in a small handipack, for soldering steel, tinplate and galvanised sheet.
Description
A handy-size pack of 2.5mm acid core solder wire. The flux is inside the wire, so it cleans the joint as the solder melts and you do not need a separate flux. Not for electronics or electrical work: the acid flux corrodes copper wiring.
Clean the joint to bright metal, heat the work rather than the solder until the solder flows, and let it cool without moving. Work in a ventilated area.
Used for:
- Tin and sheet-metal repairs
- Gutter and flashing patches
- Soldering steel wire and brackets
