Description
Long Life is Alpen’s round-shank masonry bit, made in Austria. Alpen anchors the carbide tip deep into a tool-steel core and mills the flutes and profile the same way as its SDS bits, rather than rolling them, which is what gives the range its name and its resistance to hard concrete.
Alpen rates the range for both percussion (hammer) and rotary drilling in concrete, brick and natural stone; its 6mm bit, for example, is 100mm long with a 54mm cutting length and a 130° grind. Pick the diameter to match the wall plug or anchor, start slowly to seat the tip, and pull back regularly to clear dust.

- Wall plugs and anchors in concrete and brick
- Drilling natural stone and face brick
- Frame fixings and through-holes
