Rust-Oleum Stops Rust hammered spray paint in silver: an oil-based, rust-preventive aerosol that goes straight over rust and hides dents, scratches and pitting.
Description
Rust-Oleum Stops Rust Hammered is an oil-modified alkyd spray paint that dries to a glossy hammered-metal finish. Rust-Oleum says it adheres directly to rust and hides flaws on scratched, rusted and pitted metal, and it can also be used on wood, concrete and masonry, indoors or outdoors.
Brush off loose rust and flaking paint and clean off dirt and grease. Shake the can well and spray thin coats. It is dry to touch in about 15 minutes. Cover every crevice and corner where moisture could get in. Clean up with mineral turpentine. Hammered finishes are popular on outdoor metalwork because they hide dents, welds and uneven surfaces better than a flat or gloss paint. Stir or shake well before use, and do not paint in direct hot sun or when rain is expected.
