Red Oxide Powder Pigment – 500g

Description

A 500g bag of red oxide pigment, the iron oxide powder used to colour cement-based mixes a brick or terracotta red. It is mixed into concrete, mortar, plaster, screed and grout so the colour runs right through the material instead of sitting on top like paint.

Mix the oxide with the dry cement and sand before adding water so the colour is even, and measure it by weight for every batch so repeat batches match. Too much pigment weakens the mix, so keep the dose low and test a sample first, as the colour lightens a lot as the mix dries.

• Colouring concrete floors, steps and pavers
• Tinting mortar, plaster and screeds
• Coloured grout and DIY cement crafts

Not a paint: it does not colour a set surface on its own.
