Spring toggle (butterfly) fixing for hanging items on ceiling board, drywall and other hollow walls. In 5mm and 6mm.
Description
A spring toggle has wings that fold flat to pass through the drilled hole, then spring open behind the board. Tightening the screw pulls the wings tight against the back of the board.
Drill a hole big enough for the folded wings to pass through. Once the toggle is in, do not take the screw out or the wings drop inside the cavity.
Choose 5mm or 6mm to suit the load.
Used for:
- Fixing to ceiling boards and drywall
- Hanging lights and fans from ceilings
- Shelves and cabinets on hollow walls
- Curtain rails on hollow walls
Not for solid brick or concrete: use wall plugs or anchors.
