Solid mild steel round bar, sold per metre, in 6mm to 16mm, for burglar bars, pins, hooks and fabrication.
Description
Mild steel section for fabrication, sold per metre so you buy only what the job needs.
Cut with a grinder or hacksaw, deburr the ends, and weld or bolt as needed. Prime and paint it (or galvanise it) for outdoor use, because bare mild steel rusts.
Thin bar bends easily for hooks and brackets; 12–16mm is used for bars, pins and axles.
Used for:
- Burglar bars and security grilles
- Gate and fence infill
- Pins, hooks and brackets
- Light fabrication and repairs
Not a substitute for deformed reinforcing bar in concrete.
