A return spring pulls back when stretched, as used on gates, pedals, levers and mechanisms that need to spring back. Sizes are wire x outside diameter x length.

Springs are sized as wire or outside diameter x free length. Measure the old spring and match its size, and check it returns fully after being compressed or stretched. Check the size against the existing part before buying.
