Galvanised steel standpipe, threaded both ends, in 15mm (1/2″) and 20mm (3/4″) sizes from 150mm to 1000mm long.
Description
A standpipe is a length of galvanised steel pipe with a male BSP thread on both ends. It is mostly used to bring a garden tap up out of the ground, or as a short connecting length on galvanised water lines. The pipe has a zinc coating inside and out to slow down rust.
Concrete the base of a garden tap standpipe or fix it to a post or wall so the tap does not work loose. Wrap male threads with PTFE tape or hemp and paste before assembly, and do not over-tighten into cast fittings.
Used for:
- Garden tap risers
- Tank and borehole outlets
- Short connecting lengths on galvanised lines
Not for gas lines unless the installation is done and certified by a registered gas installer.
