Galvanised steel reducing bush, male x female, for stepping a threaded fitting down one size.
Description
A galvanised fitting with a larger male thread outside and a smaller female thread inside. It screws into a fitting to reduce it to the next size down.
Wrap the male thread with PTFE tape and tighten with a spanner.
Galvanising protects the steel against rust.
Hold the fitting behind with a second wrench so it does not turn while you tighten.
Used for:
- Reducing tees, sockets and valves
- Tank and pump connections
- Garden tap and stand pipe work
- Changing pipe sizes on galvanised lines
