Galvanised steel nail plate, from 38 x 75mm to 100 x 200mm, for joining and repairing timber joints in trusses, frames and decks.
Description
Truss hardware ties timber roof members together and to the wall plate, so the roof stays tied down in strong wind. Galvanised steel resists rust in the roof space.
A nail plate is a flat galvanised plate punched for nails. It is laid across a butt joint and nailed into both pieces, to splice or strengthen the joint.
Use galvanised clout nails in every hole on both sides of the joint. Engineer-designed trusses must follow the designer’s plate layout.
Used for:
- Splicing and repairing truss members
- Timber frames, pergolas and decks
- Strengthening butt joints
