Galvanised steel backnuts, 15mm and 25mm, for locking threaded fittings through tank walls and for lock-nut joints on steel water pipe.
Description
A galvanised steel backnut (lock nut) screws onto a male threaded fitting to clamp it through a tank or cistern wall, or to lock a long-screw connection on galvanised pipe. Galvanising protects it against rust.
Use a washer or a little hemp and paste behind the nut for a seal, and tighten with a pipe wrench or large spanner.
Used for:
- Tank and cistern outlets
- Long-screw joints on galvanised pipe
- Securing threaded fittings through panels
