Description
Creosote is a traditional oil-type wood preservative for rough outdoor timber. It soaks into the wood and helps protect it against rot, fungus and insect attack.
Brush it liberally onto clean, dry timber, paying extra attention to end grain and the part of a post that goes into the ground. It stains wood dark brown and has a strong smell, so use it outdoors only.
Used for:
- Fence posts and poles
- Rough-sawn timber and sheds
- Farm structures and kraals
- Treating cut ends of poles
Not for: Indoor timber, furniture, food areas or anything children and animals chew – and timber you plan to paint or varnish.
5 litre tin. Wear gloves and eye protection, avoid skin contact and store closed, away from heat and out of reach of children.
