Description

A spoke nipple screws onto the end of a spoke and sits in the rim, and turning it tensions the spoke. Replace nipples that are rounded, cracked or seized. Spoke nipples are small, so it pays to buy a few spares when building or repairing a wheel. Use a little grease or anti-seize on the spoke threads so the nipples turn smoothly. Tighten spokes evenly around the wheel.

Check the spoke gauge before buying, and true the wheel after replacing spokes or nipples.
