An Industro three-piece hand tap set for cutting M14 x 2.0 mm metric coarse threads in drilled holes.
Description
A carbon-steel M14 x 2.0 tap set from Industro with three taps. In a standard three-piece set these are taper, second (intermediate) and plug (bottoming), used in that order. Industro does not publish more detail for this code.
Drill a 12 mm tapping hole for M14 x 2.0, start square with the taper tap in a tap wrench, and back off half a turn every turn or so to break the chip. Use cutting oil on steel. Carbon taps suit mild steel, aluminium and brass by hand.
Used for:
- Tapping M14 holes in brackets and base plates
- Repairing stripped M14 threads
- Workshop and maintenance thread cutting
Not for: machine tapping or hardened steel. Use HSS taps for that.
Set of 3 taps. Keep dry and oiled.
