Eureka Square Drive Self Drilling Drywall Screw

Description

Eureka square drive self drilling drywall screws drill their own hole in light steel studs and ceiling channels, so board can be fixed without pre-drilling. The square drive grips better than Phillips and resists cam-out, and the black phosphate coating gives some corrosion resistance indoors.

Use a size 2 square bit and a lower torque setting on the drill: the heads are smaller than a bugle head, so overdriving can pull them through the ceiling board. The 3.9 x 30mm T2 screw suits single board layers on thinner channel, while the 4.2 x 50mm #8 T3 screw has a stronger drill point and the length for double layers or thicker frame members up to 4mm.

Used for:

• Fixing drywall and ceiling board to 3–4mm metal frame
• Interior partitioning and ceilings

Not for exterior or wet areas; timber framing where a coarse wood screw is better.
