Description
Sprint Master is Alpen’s high-speed-steel jobber drill to DIN 338 RN: standard length, 118° point and a special heat treatment that Alpen says gives about three times the service life of a plain HSS bit. This listing is the code 618 plastic-wallet pack, which covers 1mm to 13mm in half-millimetre steps.
Alpen designs it for hand-held drilling in alloyed and plain steel, and it also cuts non-ferrous metals and plastics. Use 3.3mm for M4 and 8.5mm for M10 tapping holes. Centre-punch first, slow down on the bigger sizes and use cutting oil on steel.
Used for:
- Clearance and tapping holes in steel
- Drilling brackets, angle iron and flat bar
- Aluminium, brass and plastic work
Not for masonry or concrete.
